Type of honey

Monofloral:   Monofloral honey has been made by bees that have collected their pollen  predominantly from a single type of flower.

Sunflower honey

Sunflower honey is highly ranked in the world. The biggest manufacturers are France and Spain. Only pure honeydew and certain special homogenous types of honey are before it regarding quality. The reason is extremely high concentration of flower pollen and some minerals dissolved in sunflower honey. Its color varies from yellow to orange. It has a pleasant taste. People unjustly avoid it due to its fast crystallizing property. Consuming crystallized honey is very useful because by long-lasting melting of crystals of honey through sub-tongue glands all beneficial substances, by a shortest way possible, are introduced in the organism.

Acacia honey

med_z_akaciyiAcacia honey is one of most wanted and most selling type of honey in the world. It is produced from the nectar of thee acacia flower. You should be especially careful, since the acacia tree is poisonous, except the flowers, that are white and smelly, and are connected in clusters long about 20 cm. Planted acacia gives a lot more nectar than the one that grows in the forest, that is why canopy is much bigger, they receive more sun so there is more flowers.
Acacia blooms in the middle of the spring, for better input of nectar warmer nights and days and more humid mornings suit it. Considering that it blooms in the beginning of May when bees companies are still undeveloped, bees cannot entirely use it, but apart from that in one round from an average hive you can get 30-50 kg of acacia honey. During the time of acacia blooming bees are so preoccupied with it that there is no possibility of taking in nectar from other plants. Today it is difficult to find pure, chemically correct product in agriculture.

For months it remains in liquid state and crystallizes very slowly, because in its composition contains more fructose than glucose. Bee themselves successfully hibernate, if they can hibernate on the acacia honey.

Buckwheat honey

Buckwheat honey – the most powerful antioxidant honey
We all know buckwheat. Not from its latin name, Fagopyrum esculentum, but from its lack of gluten and uses in our cuisine. We know it as grain-like seeds. But buckwheat flowers also make a very powerful antioxidant honey. It has antimutagenic and antitumor effects- Researchers compared 7 different floral sources (acacia, buckwheat, fireweed, soybean, tupelo and Christmas berry) against Trp-p-1. All honeys exhibited significant inhibition of Trp-p-1 mutagenicity. Glucose and fructose were found to be similar antimutagenic as honey and were more antimutagenic than maltose and sucrose. It has a high antibacterial potency- It is known that dark honeys have a high peroxide activity. According to White and Dustmann the peroxide accumulation capacity of honey depends on the botanical origin of honey.

Apitherapists recommend 1-2 teaspoons or so of buckwheat honey as the best cough ‘medicine’ known to man and child (over the age of 12 months) for coughs due to minor colds.
